11th May 2017 | The Local. Inverloch Announces Opening Date.

Inverloch’s first ‘hole-in-the-wall’ café is confirmed to open this month, catering to the many locals and visitors this Gippsland coastal town attracts each year.

Co-owners of The Local. Inverloch., Nathan and Fran Warren, are thrilled to announce that they will be opening their doors, and hole-in-the-wall, on Saturday May 27th 2017.

Located at the seaward end of Inverloch’s main street, The Local. Inverloch has attracted much attention during construction. Nathan explains that it’s a ‘milestone’ to be able to lock in an opening date for those who have shown a tremendous amount of support and interest so far.

“We can’t wait to open our doors,” said Nathan. “Already we have had an enormous amount of support from residents, friends, family and visitors, all with encouraging words which have meant a great deal.”

“Everyone appears to be as excited as we are that we’re opening. The feedback about our offering seems to be well received too – we’re buzzing!”

The duo will serve fantastic Allpress Espresso air roasted coffee and are committed to creating the exceptional flavours for which the Melbourne based coffee company are so renowned. Arabica coffee beans will be ground in each of three grinders then loaded into an elite Italian hand crafted La Marzocco coffee machine. Coffee enthusiasts and discerning Allpress followers can enjoy a house blend, decaf, and a new single origin cup weekly.

'Foodies' will revel in the nourishing readymade food which is created fresh daily on the premises, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. Highlights on the menu include ‘The Local Brekkie Roll’, made using delicious Drury Lane English Muffins, Hogget Kitchen smoked bacon, Inverloch Free Range Eggs, tasty brown sauce from Gentle Goat’s and fresh local spinach.

The Provedore will showcase unique and creative gourmet flavours sourced from all over the world. Also, The Local. will have a freezer full of delicious readymade ‘Take Home’ meals that include a range of pastries, soups, and lasagnes – catering for locals wanting a ‘night off’ from cooking and Holiday Home makers longing for a nutritious readymade meal.

“In the spirit of convenience everything at The Local. has been created to take away,” said Fran. “When people come in for their morning coffee, they will be able to wander the shop, pick up their bottle of Gippsland Jersey Milk, a freshly baked French baguette, grab breakfast and lunch from our colourful display cabinet then select their dinner from the ‘Take Home’ meals freezer.”

“Then there’s the Provedore section full of unique gourmet food that can be used in home kitchens. Not forgetting those with a sweet tooth, our cook promises delicious sweet and savoury treats too.”

In addition to the coffee and food, an extensive drinks menu that features juices, healthy smoothies and options from the Strange Love and Karma Cola soda range will also be available.

The Local. Inverloch will deliver a relaxed, family friendly, cosy environment and will be open 6 days per week from 6.30am.

It is located on the corner of William St and Hopetoun St, Inverloch.
